ish is a free daily guessing game at ishdaily.com. We collect as little as possible. Here's exactly what happens with your data.

ish is run by Luka, based in Finland. For anything about this policy or your data, email ishdaily.hello@gmail.com.

What we collect and why

Your game progress

Your streak and today's results are saved in your browser's local storage, so the game remembers them when you come back. This information stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. Doing so resets your streak.

Questions you send us

If you use the "Got a stat that'll stump people?" form, we receive your question and, if you fill them in, the answer or source and the name you want credited. We use this only to review your question and possibly feature it in the game. If we feature it and you gave a name, that name appears with the question.

Please don't include personal information about yourself or anyone else in your question. We keep submissions for up to 12 months, or less if you ask us to delete yours. Our legal basis is your consent, which you give by sending the form, and you can withdraw it by emailing us.

Technical data

Like every website, ish is delivered by servers that see technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your visit. Our hosting provider processes this to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use it to identify you. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website.

Services we use

Netlify, Inc. hosts the website and receives form submissions. Netlify is based in the United States, so some data may be processed outside the EU. Netlify processes it on our behalf under its data processing terms, which include safeguards for transfers out of the EU.

Google provides our email (Gmail). If you email us, your message and email address are stored in that inbox.

We don't sell or share your data with anyone else.

Your rights

Under the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you can ask us to:

• tell you what data we have about you and give you a copy,
• correct it,
• delete it,
• stop or limit using it.

Email ishdaily.hello@gmail.com and we'll usually reply within a few days. If you think we've handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman at tietosuoja.fi, or to the data protection authority in your own country.

Changes to this policy

If we change how ish handles data, for example by adding ads or visitor statistics, we'll update this page before the change goes live and change the date at the top.
